Hello me dears. We are back from Spain and it's time to catch up on the Gardens in January. There is not that much to see so it won't take long.
Hoorah for Cyclamen and for Primulas.
Now grab your thermals, it's time to jump in the Land Rover for a tour of the estate.
We still have a little Mexican Flea Bane refusing to stop flowering.
as well as a few Fuchsias that just keep going, this one is one of my faves but unsurprisingly not looking it's best. - 'Abbé Farges'
We have not seen Donny since before we went to Spain. He is in a major sulk because we didn't take him on holiday with us. We had to resort to using the security cameras to find him.
By next month I think we will have a bit more to see and enjoy - Roll on Spring
But till then it's Ttfn from Donny
and
Ttfn from me

January was a stinker, and February is no better! We have a glut of Snowdrops and the Camelia is in bloom - all this rain will probably kill it though.
ReplyDeleteYour Primulas are very cheery.
Sx
Agreed, both are stinkers !
DeleteBut Snowdrops and the Camellia are both far more tough than they look and will sand up to a lot.
With Camellias it is the morning sun on the frozen blooms that burns them not the cold.
So lovely, even with the winter garden looking so bare compared to the spring and summer photos! Somehow we didn't get around to doing something with the 2 pots in the front garden, but there's still time. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThere is always time just to stick something in a pot and see what happens.
DeleteSpring is just around the corner... Jx

DeleteI spy with my all-seeing eye... Salvias still in bloom up your back passage! A ficus with all its leaves and non-blackened spiderplants!
ReplyDeleteAnd is that your taro having a lay down under the window?
P.S. A belated Happy Birthday to you!
DeleteSleeping Beauty Awakes with her eagle eye.
DeleteWe have a warm and moist back passage that has seen many a plant through a harsh winter and we find that they do better if we lay them on there side.
This post is a feast for the eyes on such a cold gray February day! I snickered at the "Get into your Land Rover.." joke. A Happy Belated Birthday from the Pacific Northwest!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your birthday wishes.
DeleteFebruary is the cruellest month roll on Spring.
