The Delargo Gardens - June

Hear we are me dears, (even later than usual) with the June round up of what's been happening in the vast gardens here at 'Delargo Towers'

The star of the show is Hemerocallis 'Crimson Pirate' So many flowers every day and it's just dazzling

Clematis “General Sikorski” is still flowering and looks lovely alongside Nicotiana affinis, white.

Clematis “Comtesse de Bouchaud” is a late flowerer and will take up the baton when “General Sikorski” fades.

Both were new last year and are doing amazingly well.

We have two Agapanthus; this one is “Charlotte” but you will have to wait for July to see the other.

We always sow Cobaea scandens every year and have again this, but this is last year's plant that has come through the winter and wants to take over me washing line.

June, and the start of the Salvia season proper. This is Salvia patens “Patio Deep Blue”

Salvia “Rockin' Fuchsia”

Salvia 'Love & Wishes'

 Salvia nemerosa “Rose Marvel”

Salvia verticillata “Purple Rain”

and of course the ever lovely Salvia 'Amistad'

Mimulus was a bit of an experiment this Spring and it has produced a mass of flowers, but it is all but over now and is looking a bit scruffy

Tragically we lost our fabulous yellow/orange Dahlia last winter. We raised it from seed and kept it going for several years and are bereft at its loss. This however is it's replacement -  “Fascination”

Dianthus 'Magenta' managed to come through the winter and is flowering well

We have wanted this plant for ages and now we have it, Erigeron karvinskianus (Mexican fleabane)

Geranium 'Rozanne' is always a joy.

Pelargonium grandiflorum “Deli” is blooming marvellous, and I love it as the flowers remind me of a Rhododendron.

Pelargonium grandiflorum [name lost] is looking good too.

All of the Pelargoniums have done extra well this month, This  ivy leaf 'Lilac' is a lovely colour.

Asarina (Maurandya) scandens seeds itself about a bit but we don't mind; its a lovely thing.

Aquilegia chrysantha “Yellow Queen” (seedlings) with a very old but fab red Zonal Pelargonium

Jon's rose was amazing this year and flowered for ages - Rosa 'Veilchenblau'

As did Rosa “Gertrude Jeckyll”

June has been kind, and the extensive gardens here at Delargo Towers are looking full and lush so lets climb up into the Land-Rover and have a tour of the grounds:

There tiz then me lovelies. Before you head to the tea rooms and gift shop, there's just time to show our wild Orchid that pops up all by itself in-between our bins.

isn't nature wonderful

and finally a sneak preview of the annual 'Fuchsia Fest' in the New Year - "Bella Rosella"

Till next time me darlins, it's

Ttfn.
