The Delargo Gardens - August

Here we are again then me darlings with the August Garden

Our new begonias are dominant this month. each flower is the size a a side plate and as soon as I come into the garden I just want to hug them. they are deliciously vulgar.

I love it when things self seed this Nicotiana is still going strong and smells divine.

The blue Phlox has gone over and the pink is just hanging on.

But this one was waiting in the wings to replace them.

As has 'Star Gazer' it has now taken centre stage after all of the other lilies have faded.

Our lovely remaining dahlia is battling on but we have not had much in the way of flower.

More continuity - Campanula glomerata “Superba” looked fab last month. This month the red is over, the blue is still going and the burgundy has just started to flower.

We are still getting a few flowers on the Ipomoea. It's always a joy

Salvia time ! They are looking good but have not hit their full stride yet so stayed tuned.

Salvia Patens.

Salvia 'Amistad'

Salvia 'Rocking Fuchsia'

Salvia 'Kisses and Wishes'

Salvia Uliginosa

There tiz then me dears, Now it's time to climb up into the Land-rover for a tour of our vast  grounds. We start of with the hot border;

We don't often mention the front garden and to be honest their is little to see. this Hemerocallis was put there as punishment for not flowering - now it has.

Now we just have time for a sneak preview of the annual Fuchsia Fest - 'Devonshire Dumpling'

Donny and I hope to see you back in the garden in September.

But till then It's Ttfn from Donny
and it's Ttfn from me
