Here we are then me darlins in December with the last look at the vast expansive Gardens here at Delargo Towers for 2025.
It's damp and cold but we still have flowers. With a Robin singing and a sudden flash of green from our resident flock of Parakeets, the garden is still a nice place to sit in with a warm coat and a glass of wine.
Thank heavens for Salvias. They are a Joy at the moment and the one above is appropriately called 'Joy'
Not bad for December methinks. Now then me lovelies I hope you have brought your Wellington Boots cuz it's time to jump up into the Land Rover for a tour of our vast estate.
Before we head of to the VIP hospitality suite for a well deserved hot toddy we have time remind you of the up and coming Christmas / New Year Specials.

It is amazing, even in the darkest of days, how much flower - and bees visiting them - there still is. Faboo! Jx

DeleteTo have any color is still amazing. Here...all but baren and sleeping till at least April. The only thing still going is the rosemary. And still good for my recipes. The only good thing about all this, it gives me a nice rest too.

ReplyDeleteI've got one begonia that has decided to flower now and a "Pink Dawn" Verbenas strongly thinking about it. It's been so warm with the rains, what we used to call "Pineapple Expresses" because they are warm air coming up from the South Pacific and hitting cold Northern air to make it rain, but now they call them "Atmospheric Rivers." It was only meant to explain the winds coming from the geographic sphere where pineapples grow as native plants, but maybe someone in a position of power down south thought we were calling them pineapples and got offended, but I digress. These are also called "La Nina" winters.
I am with you. We should never loose a poetic phrase for the sake of clinical accuracy.

Sorry I'm late - just catching up after all the Xmas hullabaloo.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to still have bees buzzing about. And parakeets, too! Any flashes of green around here are from greenfinches, but a few years ago I did spot a parakeet along the main road into Cromer.
Anyway, that's a splendid photo of that beautiful geranium, and those fuchsia buds (with the fleabane) look like they could almost be Blacky - I expect I'll find out in your Fuchsia Fest post!
