Here we are again me dears. It's lovely to see you in the garden. The June garden is bursting at the seams with delights. We will get the ball rolling with a selection of wonderful Salvias.
We have 15 different varieties in the collection, not all are in flower yet but we do have - Salvia patens 'Patio Deep Blue' above -
Salvia 'Nachtvlinder' -
The Queen of all Salvias - Salvia 'Amistad' -
Salvia "Lake Onega Imp"
Salvia 'Amethyst Lips' and below is the lovely Salvia verticillata 'Purple Rain'.
Our old phlox plants have been divided this year and we have had a few recent newbies, together they are making a fab show.
Phlox paniculata 'Nicky', which has a particularly strong scent.
Phlox paniculata 'Blue Boy' and Phlox paniculata 'Blue Paradise' below.
This lovely Nicotiana keeps reappearing every year. The scent is divine.
Hemerocallis 'Crimson Pirate' flowers its heart out every year too and is a joy.
Campanula medium - Canterbury Bells - started flowering last month and is having a second flush this month.
No garden should be without Thunbergia/Black-eyed Susan.
Gertrude Jekyll - English Shrub Rose; it gave an amazing show this year but is over now.
It was a fab year for Rosa 'Veilchenblau' as well this year but it too has done its stuff and is now over.
Our "Essex rose" was grown from seed by the boys so it is was it is. What is nice is it throws out a flower every now and then rather just giving one major flush.
There tiz then me darlins - grab your parasol and lets take a tour of our extensive grounds.
Before we all head off towards the tearooms we still have enough time for a few extras.
The late flowering Clematis - 'Comtesse de Bouchaud' is doing better than ever this year.
While the Spring flowering General Sikorski which has been looking amazing since May has now just gone over.
We had a second flowering on Clematis Nelly Moser seen here with the fabulous Brunnera 'Jack Frost'. I adore this plant.
Even more extraordinary is our wild orchid which has decided to live in amongst the Dustbins. it's been there a few years now and flowers every year - The common spotted-orchid
Out of sight but not out of mind; our cymbidium orchid has held it's flowers since March but finally gave up towards the end of this month.
Breaking news
After the demise of the Cordyline (it has given us two offshoots but they are quite small) The role of focal point for the grand vista has fallen to the Taro.
The first of the lilies have opened in time for Pride and will be amazing next month.
There we are then my lovelies. Before we go Donny wants to highlight 'Marinka' for the sneak preview of the annual Fuchsia Fest:
We hope to see you back in the garden in July but until then -
It's Ttfn from Donny
