The Delargo Gardens - June

Well then me dears, as they say fine words butter no parsnips.
No matter what I said or intended it is now October and I am 5 months behind on posting the garden.
Hey Ho ! Lets get it back dated and sorted.

June bursting out all over. Well at least the Allium cristophii is.

The highlights of the month.

 Thalictrum aquilegiifolium

 Aquilegia hybrid “Blue Star”

 Digitalis purpurea (Foxglove) “Dalmatian Purple”

Ipomoea tricolor 'Kniola's Black'. Beautiful but not black !

 Polemonium caeruleum (“Jacob's Ladder”)

Rosa 'Veilchenblau' grown from a cutting dug up from the old garden and still looking fab.

Campanula medium “Deep Blue” (Canterbury Bells) and Lupin “Gallery Rose”

Great joy ! we didn't know we still had this - Lilium martagon “Nicotine”. It just popped up !

 Mimulus, (mixed)

 Calibrachoa, red and “Goldrush”

 Salvia patens “Patio Deep Blue”

 Nicotiana (dwarf), mixed

Another refugee from the old garden we didn't know we had Monarda didyma 'Red Colours'.

Now for a quick whiz around the estate.

All the pots and baskets are filling up nicely.

Our lovely dahlia opened its first flowers on the 2nd of the month.

We are both very pleased to have created some structure if not design into what was a dull, flat, paved area

Hesperis matronalis “Purple-violet” started flowering last month and is still looking fab

So there tiz then my lovelies, June in 20 photos

Madam Arcati is Back

As you may know. dear reader. my previous blog  The random jottings of Madam Arcati
was scuppered by the evil Rupert Murdoch and his henchmen over at Photobucket.

Unable to repair the damage at this time, we have decided to abandon ship and sail forth anew.

Here we are then, me lovelies, in our new home.

To unfurl the 'mainsul' and slice the mainbrace, here are Bea Arthur and Madame:

I am lucky enough to have seen all three - Madame with Wayne Flowers in the very late 70's in a restaurant / cabaret venue in London called 'Country Cousins' and the adorable Bea Arthur in her one-woman show at the Savoy in 2003.

Wayland Parrott Flowers Jr. (November 26, 1939 – October 11, 1988)
Bea Arthur (born Bernice Frankel; May 13, 1922 – April 25, 2009)

Till next time then me dears and a catch up and see what's been going on in the garden
