Delargo Towers annual Fuchsia Fest 2024.

Welcome my lovelies to the world famous 'Delargo Towers annual Fuchsia Fest' 2024

It is easy to take Fuchsias a bit for granted as they can be in flower from Spring to Autumn (In fact we have a some still in flower in January after the frost and snow). They often don't make it onto the blog so I highlight just one each month through the year.

To make up for my neglect, every year we hold a 'Fuchsia Fest' here at 'Delargo Towers' to showcase our collection. This year there is a grand tally of 53 named varieties so without further ado

I declare the 'Delargo Towers Fuchsia Fest of 2024 well and truly open!

The Delargo Gardens - December

Here we are me dears with the last post of the year. December has been gloomy and grim but the garden is stirring and getting itself ready for 2025

Indoors; this years pink (no it's orange) Hippeastrum was still looking stunning.

The salvias are all still going even if like the rest of the garden they are a little scruffy.

The Fuchsias are still flowering too but we will wait for the up and coming Fuchsia Fest to view those. Instead we will a whirlwind tour of the grounds.

.Cyclamen

We are amazed that this Thunbergia has continued to flower from Spring into the New Year

Any plant that flowers in Winter is a joy - Pelargonium.

and of course the Fuchsias, this is Pink Fantasia.

a couple of last years Primulas have made it through to this year.

Donny has his hands full at the moment organizing the fuchsia fest and the VIP guest list for the Post Festival Ball. He still finds time to try and protect our little Primulas from slug attack. He is on a losing wicket there methinks.

So there tiz me lovelies. Donny and I hope to see you at the world renowned Delargo Towers Fuchsia fest 2024.

Till the me darlins it's Ttfn from Donny

The Delargo Gardens - November

Here we are again my lovelies and on time. Not a lot to see this month so it will be a shorter tour than normal but we do have some flower in the garden and we also have this lovely pale pink hippeastrum from indoors. It's Orange !!!

Pansies are planted but not doing much yet

Cyclamen are always a joy this time of year and I just love their marbled leaf

Our Regal Pelargonium has refused to flower all Summer but is having a go now in November !

We have already had a couple of night time minus temperatures and the Salvias are not happy but we still have some flower.

Well me dears that's it for the garden highlights. Tiz time to jump up into the fleet of Land Rovers and tour the estate.

and for this month only an unusual view of the back passage; from the Drawing Room window

As you know we hate being surrounded by the evil weed trees that have turned our south facing garden into a shady woodland garden. That said, we love ferns and ferns love our garden and seed themselves everywhere.

This is last years babies all potted up and below are the newbies still in the pots they sowed themselves in.

Donny loves the ferns

He also wants to remind you of the up and coming Delargo Towers Fuchsia Fest. There are a lot of them still flowering well even now - this is Millennium.

Well there tiz me darlins, short and sweet just like me. Hope you enjoyed the tour and the VIP refreshment tent; but till next time  -

it's Ttfn from Donny
