The Delargo Gardens - September

Here we are me dears with the Delargo Towers Gardens in September. This September has been the warmest ever on record and the garden is looking blue.

This a newbie in the the garden and our first Hydrangea,' Hydrangea Black Stem Blue '. It's a fab colour and the black stems and smaller than normal leaves make it a bit special. It is hardy and most importantly shade tolerant which is becoming ever more important as we get completely shaded out by the evil, weed, sycamore trees.

The salvias have kicked of as you would expect and are a joy this time of year. this is Salvia 'Amistad'.

Salvia x guaranitica “Rockin' Fuchsia”

Salvia guaranatica “Amante”

Salvia 'Kisses & Wishes'

Salvia 'Love & Wishes'

The bees love all the salvia but this is bee heaven, Salvia Uliginosa. It is full of all kind of bees morning to night.

This Thunbergia (“Black-Eyed Susan”) has been in full flower since Spring.

This is a self sown seedling from last years plant

It has done much better than it's mother did last year.

and so on to the deliciously vulgar Begonias. I have already said how shady our south facing garden has become and these take the shade and pack a full on punch of colour and the blooms are also very big too. We have learnt to love them.

This is called 'Non Stop Pink' !

'Sangria'

 Begonia boliviensis “Bellavista” Red

''Non Stop Yellow'

''Non Stop Red'

'Giant Pendula Yellow'

'Giant Pendula red'

Well there we are me dears and now it's time for the grand tour

I am always amazed by the amount of growth every year. I think by the end of the month I will need a machete just to pick the washing in of the line.

We still get a few Ipomoea in the morning.

and the last of the phlox has carried on giving colour.

The Taro is still thriving and it brings us to the end of the tour.

There is just time for our sneak preview of the new year Fuchsia Fest - This is the lovely  'Elfriede Ott'

Donny and I hope to see you back in the garden next month

But till then It's Ttfn from Donny
