Hello me Darlins, here we are then at the and of December and the end of 2020. Not a good year generally but a very good one for the garden.
I thought I would bring 2020 to a close by taking a leaf out of the lovely Mr Inexplicable DeVice's book by posting a month by month look at the garden through the year.

Well there tiz me lovelies a whole year on one page
We Still have some colour here in the garden. The Salvias carried on almost to Christmas
Our plucky Pelargoniums will give us the odd flower throughout the Winter
And a jolly little Snowdrop has flowered early to herald in the New Year.
Roll on 2021 and Roll on Spring.

The garden was indeed the "saviour" of this awful year.
ReplyDeleteAnd now the circle starts again - all the little bulbs are poised, waiting to start Spring off with a vengeance... Jx
The wheel has turned full circle and the garden will come back to life as the days slowly get longer and the the Sun gets stronger.
DeleteThat last picture could sum up a more calm and dainty start to the new year. I loved this post and seeing how it changed by month. And what not to like about the plucky Pelargoniums. A rather perfect flower for Christmas I surmise.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful New Years to youππΈππ
A Healthy, wealthy and Happy New year to you too dear. In these bleak times it is good to be reminded that Spring and Summer will return and just how bountiful they are when they do.

What a show! Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI did notice a strange little man peering out from under your bench in March. And was that trampoline in the neighbour's garden in May (you poor things, if so)?
Everything really got going in May, didn't it? And then, it seemed like when the lilies opened in July they were all "Stop everything! We're here! We're Fabulous!" But it didn't stop - it was luxuriant right through to November.
Thank you for airing a year's worth of your Back Passage - it truly is a sight for sore eyes!
Thank you dear and thank you for the idea.
DeleteI am glad that you have met Doncaster Donny our ironic Gnome. He is always there somewhere and been in every garden since our first.
Our neighbors were truly dreadful but have gone now and their broken down fence is about to be replaced with a new one. We have our fingers crossed that the new neighbors will be better.
Happy New Year dear.
Roll on Spring.

Happy New Year, Madam A!
ReplyDeleteSo, things begin to look lush in March/April [yes, I am disagreeing a little with Mr Devine!], but I noticed the tulips in April - they are so cheery.
Sx
A happy New year to you too Ms Scarlet.
DeleteI love the way the garden slowly wakes up around mid March and April and I can't imagine a garden without Tulips. We plant new every year so we are looking forward to seeing this years batch
